Hailey Bieber has revealed that she’s faced “some of the saddest, hardest moments” of her adult life since the start of 2023.
The Rhode Skin founder appeared to subtly reference her recent rumored feud with Selena Gomez in an Instagram Story Wednesday, admitting that life hasn’t been easy on her in recent months.
“I like to make jokes about how I feel because sometimes it’s easier than admitting I’m having a hard time,” the 26-year-old wife of Justin Bieber wrote.
Hailey said she’s been left emotionally “fragile” following her apparent feud with Selena Gomez, who has spoken out in defense of the influencer.
“But truthfully since 2023 started I have had some of the saddest, hardest moments I’ve ever had in my adult life and my mind and emotions have been fragile to say the least,” she added.
Fans began speculating that their years-long feud had reignited in February after Hailey posted a since-deleted TikTok video seemingly body shaming Gomez.
A few weeks later, people were convinced that Hailey and her pal Kylie Jenner were mocking Gomez’s eyebrows on Instagram, but both women shut down the rumors.
“And I know so many other people feel the same way I feel, so just know you’re not alone,” Hailey continued in her post Wednesday night.
“That being said, let’s keep being there for one another. Let’s be there for loved ones and friends and family and strangers.”
“Let’s just be there for people.. let’s keep showing up for each other even when it’s hard. We’re better together,” she added.
Last month, Hailey asked Gomez to urge her 403 million Instagram followers – the most of any other woman on the platform – to stop sending her death threats to her.
After Gomez pleaded with fans to be kinder to Hailey, the influencer praised her for “speaking out” amid escalating tensions between their fan bases.
“The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this which is extremely harmful,” Hailey wrote on Instagram.
“Her and I have been discussing the last few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I,” she continued.
She added that it’s “moments like this” when social media platforms “only create extreme division” among people when things are “taken out of context.”
